Okay, I finally decided to take the plunge and enter the world of headphones. I did some reading and research and then stumbled across head-fi. Great site!! I didn't have much to spend and wanted to really try it out without getting in too deep. So I read lots of "best phones under $100" threads. I decided on SR850's. Well, they're awesome!! I've got about 30 hours of listening in and am blown away by the detail...things I've never heard before in my music. So now comes the questions.
1. The bass is too weak for me. I've tried to diddle with the EQ some without any good results. They get plenty loud and the mids and highs will split your skull without any distortion. So how do I get more bass from my new cans? Maybe they don't have it under any circumstances.
2. I am using realtek on board sound through my pc and they cans are plugged into the line out port. I did use a toslink cable to connection my receiver and listen to the phones through it but it didn't make much of a difference.
3. I listen to a broad range of music...pop, rock, a little country and alternative.
4. Do I need something like a Fiio e9? Or do I need to look at a sound card like an Asus xonar?
Overall I'm very happy the 850's but just want music that has strong bass to be represented accurately. If there is something that would help please let me know what it is. Thanks...
