Hi i was thinking of buying the jvc boombox RV-NB70 which is $240, mostly because its a great system, portable, loud, subwoofers, and ipod dock.  Ive heard it before and it sounds fantastic so I was wondering if there is a better boombox or is this boombox good for me? thanks

EDIT: heres a link http://www.amazon.com/JVC-RV-NB70-Kaboom-System-microphone/dp/B004M8SU30/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I've got the original Kaboom from the late 90's and I love it. Hope you don't plan carrying it long distances as it's stupidly heavy.

Half the price of the Kaboom, and still a pretty sweet unit....http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&partNumber=CFDG700CP

Has a 1/8" cable and jack for plugging any portable DAP into it....I've been pleased with it.L3000.gif

they're making kabooms again? huh. you should be really happy with the sound of a kaboom. they have a pair of 6 1/2" (or is it 8"?) woofers and 50 watts worth of amp power and with the long tailpipe external ports, put out more bass than any boombox i've ever seen. they're just very big and the shape makes them harder to carry, but you can put a guitar strap on them.

i guess i got to this thread too late. i was going to suggest that instead of getting a boombox, you get a little class D amp and a pair of bookshelf speakers which would offer better sound quality if not as much boom. i'm not a fan of boomy ported bass myself, but you'll be able to rock a small party with a kaboom.

now i'm missing my early 90s lasonic with 8" woofers and illuminated EQs.

I've always wanted to get a kaboom box, I call it the music can (as in garbage can atsmile.gif). It's one heck of a sweet portable, so ENJOY!!!
