As an example of globally accepted as comfortable? I'd say not everybody is comfortable having two sweat provoking tires on his/her cheeks ;-)

Hah hah! I think the xb500 is about as comfortable as you can get. Tree tire earpads make it comfortable. You can say they make you feel a little sweaty but you can't say they're actually uncomfortable! biggrin.gif
Or maybe the mdr ma900. Everybody, including me, loves em.

Updated review:

I have edited some parts of the text (mostly NTS word choices) and I have pointed out that your head shape plays an important role about the presence peak. Also that the ear pads are not replaceable... And I added a short comparison to M1.

I already wanted to do this a long time ago!

Any suggestions for an amp under $85 for these?

These sound wonderful without one but I'm still up to improve if possible.

Thanks in advance. Looking at the FiiO E11 atm, not sure.

Also, the big brother of these (the HiFi Stereo SHP3000s) are the most comfortable headphones I've ever put on my head. Couldn't afford them over the L1s, sadly.

I don't think that the SHP3000 are L1 's big brother. More the other way around.

In terms of price.

Actually, I may not have the correct name for them. Was in a store and the L1s were @ 269, and another pair were above them for 369, not sure what the name was. Possibly the X1/28? Don't remember, but they looked similar.

If you want to EQ the sound than the FiiO E07K is a decent choice for about $90, yes $5 more. If not than the E12 will be just fine.

The big brother is the X1.

Yup, I figured about the X1. Didn't take too close of a look at the SHPs.

Thanks for the advice though. I'm assuming you mean E11 though, since E12 is 130ish.

Oops, my mistake. Thanks for the correction.

But yeah, if you don't need to EQ the sound the E11 pairs pretty well with the L1.

Alright, bought the E11.

Now... where in the world is the microphone on this thing, and how in the world do I use it? Trying to use it for my computer, and obviously there's only the audio cable, no microphone one. Is the microphone only for iPods or something?

Talking about the L1s, if I confused anyone.

Only works with ios with me.

It should work with any multi-purpose jack. The mic works on my MacBook, my iPhone, my Android smartphone, my Lenovo Thinkpad, ...

If your computer uses 2 jacks (i.e. one output for headphones, one input for mic) you'll need a splitter cable like this one:

I.e. TRRS female to 2x TRS male
