Wow, velours....Say goodbye to accentuated bass and closed soundstage. These should be interesting.

^Not too accentuated but still very competent and deep bass would be totally my thing.

This would be amazing if true. $500-600 is not too appealing methinks.

(Would have asked for more info if I did.)

EDIT: One piece of info that I have on the X1's is that the MSRP is $390

"Deluxe velour memory foam pads" and open-back design according to the right pic and $390 according to this person but that sounds not very reliable, still gotta get an official confirmation on the price.

$390 would be awesomer. I'm so sick of $399.

Ah, now this picture is much clearer than the one in the anime thread. Those look nice. They look amazingly comfortable/ergonomic. Definitely interested in these.

Are you referring to the headphones or the girl's gams?

Looks good and very promising! And Ultrazino I am looking forward to your Z1000 vs L1 comparison.

Not a deal breaker or anything like that for me because I do enjoy the sound, I just think that I will be getting a lot of use out of these cans, and might have to send them in to have them re-cushioned at some point after the initial warranty. I'm hoping this "memory foam" holds up well!

Is it possible to do this? I ordered a pair today and this was one of the reasons I was hesitant to buy them... Is it possible to get them "re cushioned?"

It might be possible, but I don't know for sure. I've been using my L1s just about every day and it is a concern of mine as well. And I don't happen to use them to "wax the floor" either. I know Sennheiser makes replacement ear cushions for my HD-580s, so it's not an uncommon thing to ask in my opinion.

Does Apple sell the L1 in stores or only online? I am interested. Although the X1 looks even more intriguing.

I ordered mine online from the Apple Store, but they should also be at the physical locations as well.
