best headphone that is sturdy, sounds great with nice features for under 200$?

I've been looking at headphones for quite a while now, (v mod a m80/cross fade LP and Lp2, audio technica ath-m50 and a few Sony headphones. I listen to alternative bands like blink-182 as well as some rap and hip hop (lil Wayne, eminent, etc) mixed in with some Techno, dub step and rock. I also like to use headphones for video games and watching television and movies. I was wondering which headphone would give me a great sound stage for these aspects, as well as clear and crisp sound quality, also a detachable cable would be nice but if not, it won't kill me!

Sounds like a Ultrasone HFI-580/DJ1 is right up your alley.

HFi 580 is effectively a good choice for your music genre, but the soundstage isn't huge. The SRH750 has a much bigger soundstage and a more balanced sound, but with less punchy bass. Both have 50mm drivers.

For a closed headphone under $200, it's extremely hard to beat the Fischer Audio FA-003/Brainwavz HM5 at those requirements. Its soundstage is so good for a closed headphone that it has been compared to many open headphones like the Sennheiser HD600, its detail retrieval is above average for the price range, and it has detachable dual-entrance cables. However, I think the M50 would be an overall sturdier can if you plan on dropping it a lot, and the FA-003/HM5 isn't exactly bass-heavy if that's your thing.

Sincerely,

ATH m50 for the win!
