When I was last in Canada I visited an A&W on a whim and was amazed that the root beer was so good. A&W root beer in the States these days is nasty and chemical-tasting, and the restaurants are pretty poor.

A novel about classism in a 2 dimensional world wherein the geometric occupants see things from a 1 dimensional perspective. I read it when I was in 6th grade, but I'm pretty sure I'd still find it interesting if I were to pick it up today.
Check out the wiki or something for more/better info if anything I've just said sounds interesting.

One time I ran a high fever and was hallucinating in bed. Everything felt extreeeeeeemmmmmeeeelllly sloooooowwwww and it was bizarre talking to people because all the words were like treacle. I had a pillow with some patterns on the fabric, and I began to feel as if I could feel those patterns on the underside of the pillow with my fingers, and they stretched out to infinity in my mind.
Good times.

You should read theverge.com for gadget news and reviews. I find arstechnica really good for the more heavy-duty stuff, i.e. information security texts and so on.

I found some ESW9s at Best Buy. They sounded pretty nice overall. The highs were pretty grainy and splashy obscuring detail but somehow managed to not be harsh. The bass and mids weren't bad at all though. Mids had a bit of richness and the bass had some good thump without losing too much definition. Overall it's a pleasant and low fatigue sound. Needs more isolation though.
They wanted $400 for them though.

Then a sales guy came up out of the blues and said they'd price match Amazon for $220. Are they just fishing for easy sales or something?

I've always liked the look of the ESW9's but the cable and build seem a little off to me, like the ES10's.

The cable seemed a little thin and I don't really like dual entry but the build seemed nice other than that.

I was surprised to see Best Buy carrying higher priced Audio-Technica stuff. Namely the ESW9 and Art Monitor Series A900X. I didn't even know the latter (specifically the "X" version) was available outside of Japan yet.

The was also one K550 but it was boxed up and there were none on display.
There was a thread a few months ago about a Best Buy that had an HD650 and HD800 on display.

I've noticed that the Canadian BestBuy's are also starting to carry higher end headphones. When they started opening up locations in Canada years ago they bought out the biggest Canadian electronics chain FutureShop to compliment their offerings and gain dominant market share in the Canadian marketplace. Shortly after BestBuy started carrying better headphones FutureShop also started restocking their audio selection with better products. A year in a half ago I would be lucky to grab a UE600 and if I was really lucky maybe a low tier Sennheiser. The only gear they used to have that could be called high end by the average consumer was Beats and the odd mid tier Sony headphone. It's rather nice to see some mid tier headphones on the shelf from AKG and Sennheiser and some mid tier offerings in IEM's from JVC Sennheiser and Sony. When I was shopping around for my moms headphones I was rather shocked to see the Sony XBA line available at FutureShop. They had the XBA 1 to 3 available, hopefully the XBA 4 will also be available soon. The biggest shocker for me was when I was able to buy the JVC FXT90 for 50 bones less then online. Usually audio gear here is quite overpriced.
