We have a breakthrough at Best Buy! - Page 3

I really doubt your common thief would try to steal the 800's....they're just too ugly for the common person. They don't know about the beautiful sound it produces.

they would see the price tag and that would motivate the steal, the appearance be damned...

An internet analyst for Forbes had a bad encounter with Best Buy because he was annoyed by a DirecTV rep and Best Buy wouldn't return an opened DVD/CD/Video game (like every other retailer) so he got upset and angry and posted about what a terrible company Best Buy is, and how Amazon is soooooooo much better, so now people think they are going out of business.

Wow thats pretty cool that they are doing that, even though they probably charge full MSRP it would be awesome to try on HD800s

Any store list for these? You said in Dallas. I'm in Austin and wonder if any of our stores are getting one.

Either way it's pretty awesome. I do think they should move them into the actual Magnolia rooms...opens cans aren't going to sound great in a store as loud as that...especially when someone decides to demo car speakers for the entire store.

Will Best Buy follow Guitar Center and start matching internet pricing? Many say they go to Best Buy to look at items, then buy them through Amazon. Best Buy is still profitable, however estimates for future sales growth and earnings growth are rather pessimistic. Best Buy stock sells at less than 10x earnings, while Amazon stock sells at over 100x earnings! Amazon's sales grew at around 40% last year, while Best Buy's sales were almost the same as the prevous year.

Wow, I never thought I'd see the day.  I get the feeling this will last maybe a month or two.  Who knows maybe they will "clearance" out the hd800's when they realize they aren't selling!

I love clearance sales, the tough part is you have to be on the ball and jump on the deal as soon as it goes up!  I've seen used hd800's go for $900 plus or minus $100 so it's not that hard to get.
