Hi

 

I'm from the UK and I recently bought some JVC HA NC120's for around £40. However, I found the noise cancelling to be non existant and the build quality and durability to be poor. The squeaky joints and thin wire particularly didnt fill me with confidence.

 

I have found some Vmoda's at the uk amazon for £120, they looked amazing and had a metal construction, also there is a removable lead with control buttons which is nice.

 

However, I saw on the US amazon site that the price is around $100 for a colour thats not available in the UK (rouge). it works out to £95 with an import tax deposit of £15.88 (which is surprisingly close to the £15.86 on an online calculator http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation/saved_calculations/view_details/31115547/ )  and shipping (8-16 days).

 

I would like to know if anyone has tried to ship from amazon US to the UK and their experiences ( I realize this is an american forum). Particularly about the tax and duty situation and how it works with the deposit amazon takes.

 

Also I am wondering if there are similiar headphones for this price.
