What should i do?

Right now i own an Ipod Touch 3rd generation and im nto quite satisfied wth the sound it pumps into my grado sr8-iès and my audio technica M50s.

Which should i do?

Should i buy a great sounding Mp3 player with great Eq settings such as a cowon J3 or should i Buy a great portable amp like a fiio e11?

Personally i have no idea what the difference in sound would be, if the j3 would have the upper hand or the fiio would give me better sound? i really dont know. Can you guys give me a hand?
Also the fiio is obviously cheaper and thats great, but is it worth putting the extra money into a j3?

The third gen touch is probably one of the worse iPods. The second gen has a better DAC, from what I remember reading. Get an amp and a LOD if you want to keep with the iPod (I reccomend E17 based on reviews and features, E11 on use, along with an L9 LOD) or get a better source, those are your options.

I'd get a better source if you're looking at portables, first, and then buy an amp later on.
