They were a very good can, excellent treble (the best I have heard to date... clear but not harsh), good bass, good mids, but in the end after quite a bit side by side comparison with my Denon D7000s I didn't feel like the T1s did enough things that much better than the Denons to warrant a purchase. I personally wasn't crazy about their build either. I actually ended up ordering the Signature Pros, I thought the 2900s were pretty good, so if Ultrasone put together a phone that does everything a bit better than the 2900s within a in a nicer package, it sounds like a winner to me.. plus I was able to get it for a few hundred less than the T1s. Ill have some impressions of the ultrasones once I get them in.

What amp did you use with the Beyers? They pair best with OTL amps and only then really shine.

I was using my SS/Tube hybrid Peachtree Audio amp/dac and Woo Audio WA6SE tube amp.

So I'll have an official review up soon, hopefully.

But so far the Signature Pros are getting better and better. I really felt like nothing would be able to dethrone the D7000s (to my ears), but the Signature Pros are at least their equal in several areas and better in others. The only thing I feel the D7000s outdoes the Signature Pros is on the soundstage, the S-Logic really doesn't do that much for the soundstage in my opinion, but the angled pads on the D7000s I think help a lot.

In terms of audio performance, the Signature Pros sound similar to the T1s in terms of clarity, but have much more fun bass, but a smaller soundstage. Detail separation is on par with the T1s IMO. With my Woo WA6SE w/ Sophia Princess and 6EW7 driver tubes Music is just amazingly transparent, fast, deep, just beautiful really. The Signature Pros are going to be a keeper I think; I have the LCD2s on order for comparison and hopefully some time in the future I will be able to try the HD800s but for now Sig Pros + tube amp = audio bliss.

I think the T1 is great. The massive but narrow treble peak bothers me a bit, but that's all. I am prone to hearing sibilance on all speakers. Even the crappy ones in my laptop. So I can't judge that too much. I would say that the treble peak in the T1 does accentuate sibilance just a little bit extra on some recordings (only on certain female vocals), but it doesn't create sibilance that was not already there.

Either way, I am interested in trying out more headphones. The only ones in my journey so far have been the HD650, Q701, and DT990 600ohm. The next is my journey is the ATH-AD2000. It will be interesting to see how I feel about it compared to the T1. :D

I'm the same way, I noticed that with the T1s as well. Honestly the only non-sibilant headphone I have ever listened to is the Sen HD650, everything else has had a little to a lot of sibilance.. I just got my LCD2s today so I guess ill have some input on those soon too.

LCD2 is reli a heavy headphone, I can't bear to put it on my head for long time, though sounds not bad

btw, signature pro is also a fun headphone for gaming (the sound effects- -), and watching VDOs

So I still prefer the signature pros to the LCD2s. Like thisismyname mentioned the LCDs are very heavy and the headband causes uncomfortable pressure points that makes it harder to listen /enjoy music for longer than 30 mins. With that said, the T1s are also more comfy than the LCDs. But in regards to sibilance the LCDs are completely free of it, though their sound is similar, but a bit better, than the HD650s (to me the LCD sounded more veiled than my sig pros and d7000s). So my conclusion from the several headphones ive tried over the years is, if you give up sibilance you'll also be losing some clarity

The one thing I didn't try while I had the T1s was their performance with movies... the D7000s are the best movie headphone I've tried, wondering if the T1s also perform well in that category?

Ahzari, while looking for some answers about the differences between the 900 and the 2900 (did not got many results..) i noticed you had both of them,so i guess i could rely on some opinions of yours, even is there some inevitable variables to be considered, about subjectivity and experience (witch i dont have because where i live probably the is no way i can just "try" those headphones,at least in a geographical radius of more or less then 3000 km).

Does the 2900 really is a lot similar to the 900,at least in the bass area and soundstage, where obviously a drastic difference should be noticed due to their open/closed characteristic?

i am thinking on buying a secondary headphone for bass music ,the bass on my dt990 250 is very nice even being open.

thanks a lot in advance,

Salute

The 2900s are more refined than the 900s. I think they have clearer less harsh treble, with lighter and tighter bass. I think your DT990s will be kind of similar. I had the DT990 32ohm, and while the 2900s were better, it wasn't by much. If you are interested in a headphone for bass music with a more distinct and refined sound compared to your beyers I would look towards the Ultrasone Signature Pro or the Denon D5000/7000 (pricier but worth the investment).

thanks!since a lot of time i have been interested in the 900,where many people told to have a great bass, good electric guitar reproduction, although some sad to be a little high harsher.but after the open (2)900 i thought would fit more my needs.let see if next year i present my self with a new pair of headphone...:-)
