Audio Hijack Pro users - VST problems?

Hey fellow AHP users. I've sent an email to Rogue Amoeba but have not received a response yet - I'm hoping maybe one of you knows.

Running on my MB pro, under 10.6.8 - I have the current build of AHP (2.10.0).

I can use Audio Unit filters fine, and *some* VST filters - but most VST, including those from some pretty reputable filter providers do not even appear when selected. They show up in the menu, but then are not placed in the grid.

Is there something going on that's a known issue? Has anyone else run into this?

Nobody else has found any issues?

Finally heard back. VST support is fairly limited, despite their claim that it supports 2.4 standards. They recommend using Audio Unit based plugins - which would be great, if the plugins I wanted, were available as audio units.

The search for the perfect solution continues.
