Best cable type to hook iPod up to Schiit Asgard (1/8" or 30 pin)

Just looking at some cables and wondering what the best way would be to connect an iPod to a headphone amp like the Schiit Asgard for better sound quality. Would it be the top plug (1/8"?) or the bottom 30 pin dock connector, or does it even matter?

You'll definitely want to get the 30-pin adapter.  This will be an unamplified signal and will work best going into the Asgard.
