Monarch SA-10 Tube Amp.

Does anyone have any thoughts on converting this amp to a HP amp. I want to use it with a pair of Pioneer

Monitor 10's 24Ohms. The amp is purported to have a 1watt output according to the person I bought it from who recapped it and made other upgrades. Another HEADFI member claims to run his Pioneer cans directly from a 30watt speaker tap on a vintage tuner. Any comments are appreciated.  See link below.

You will need an output transformer.  As far how to attach it, and which one to get, I am very limited in that knowledge.  While it may be fun to mod something, it may just make more sense to buy a dedicated headphone amp.  If you have the urge to build yourself, check out the Bottlehead kits.

Thanks for your advice. I know you are right but I have to give this thing a try. The Pioneer is rated at 700 MW per Channel. That should allow for 1.4 watts, slightly over the rated output of this amp. Does this make sense?
