Anyone with experience with their products, such as the 1964-Q and Hier 6A?

Hi there, keep in mind that the part I bolded may not be true. People have been unhappy with high end customs because they don't match the sound signature that they want. For example, even though the UM Miracle is surely very high quality, a few people have bought it and been highly unhappy with it because they were looking for a warmer, fun sound. The problem isn't the Miracle, it's that people thought "oh even though it's not what I want it'll be so high quality that I will like it". That wasn't the case.

You should write John Moulton, the wizard audiologist behind Heir Audio (his email is in the heir audio threads or the heir audio website) about the 6.A. Everything he does is very well crafted, just tell him what you want to hear and he'll let you know which of his custom line is right for you.

Good post,

The biggest part of deciding which custom to get is deciding what sound signature you want.

I agree with you, I just don't know what I'm looking for really. It's really hard with all the things like warmth, sparkly and so on. I want something that sounds as close to the music should sound as possible, maybe that's the neutral sound signature?

That's the natural sound signature. The Westone ES5's are tuned that way in my opinion.

I've always read that the ES5 is more on the warmth and "fun" sounding side?

From what I've gathered:

Miracle = Balanced

ES5 = Mid Focused

I'm not too sure on the JH13 but those have more impressions than both the Miracle and ES5.

I've decided to remove JH13 from my decision, I don't think it will suit me at all, and also it's more expensive than the Miracles. Miracles is the way I'm going, don't really have an answer why I chose them, but their clear acrylic, awesome customer service and price is three of the reasons.

Or if you don't need crazy isolation and custom fit, the Sony EX-1000 does quite well when deep, impact full but not exaggerated bass is required. It also does quite well in the soundstage and clarity metrics.

It has been a really long time since I've heard JH-13 though.

Edit: oops sorry, didn't see the last post.
