Best headphones for rock and rap?

I am looking for good headphones for rock ( such as Sublime, The Dirty Heads, and Cage the Elephant) and rap ( such as Atmosphere, Kid Cudi, Odd Future, Shwayze, Dr Dre, and Mac Dre). I have a budget of about $150, used or new. I don't care if they are closed or open, but would not like an amp. My source is an ipod touch 3rd gen. I have previously had the Klipsch s4, Klipsch Image one, and currently have monster turbines. I found the s4 too silibant and harsh, the Image One to have too much bass, and the Turbines lack a naturalness to their soundstage and vocals. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Shure SRH-840 is worth considering.

AiAiAi TMA-1

Found the TMA1's too dark to listen to rock, and grados to be too bass-light to listen to rap. The MTPC is a solid middle ground between those 2, and someone on the FS forums is selling for 140 :)

I was considering the MTPG, but decided that i really wanted full sized headphones. I can't seem to find the tma-1 anywhere. Are the hfi-580 harsher than the Etymotic er6? Because I have heard those, and didn't find them too harsh. Would the Shure have enough bass for rap? I prefer bass with a lot of impact, but not overpowering quantity.

Ould the SR225i be a good choice?

Creative Aurvana Live! is one to consider.

The Sony MDR ZX700 might work for you too.

They'd be great for rock, but not nearly bassy enough for rap.

Which of those two would you say sounds more realistic? Like most speaker-like?
