Trying to decide between AKG K77 or Sennheiser HD419

Hey guys I recently found a best buy gift card for $50.00 which I forgot I had and decided that I'd treat myself to a new pair of headphones. I know that price range is still budget quality but I'm in college and a bit strapped for cash so at this point anything is an upgrade from the ipod buds I have now. I'm planning on using these primarily for listening to music (No specific genre, I'm all over the place with my interests) as well as some home recording

 

As of right now I think I've narrowed it down between the AKG K77's http://www.bestbuy.com/site/AKG+-+Over-the-Ear+Headphones/2882563.p?id=1218360618371&skuId=2882563&fb_source=message 

 

and the Sennheiser HD419's http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sennheiser+-+Over-the-Ear+Headphones/2989122.p?id=1218370118014&skuId=2989122

 

I've read good things about both but I'm a bit upset that I didn't grab the Sennheisers for $40 when they were on sale a little while ago. The one thing that's kinda pushing me toward the AKG's is that, unlike the Sennheisers, they aren't on backorder and I wouldn't have to wait a few weeks to get them. So which one would be more worth my money or is it a tossup between them? 

 

I'm also open to suggestions for another type of headphone within the 50-60 dollar price range. As long as it's sold at Best Buy so that I can use my gift card.

I have been doing some research i think that the HD 419 are better. I do not own them but i have already order them.

Yeah I'm kinda leaning toward those. I think they have a nicer aesthetic as well. The K77's look kinda clunky to me. I guess I can't really lose though cause I'm either gonna pay 3 dollars for the K77's or 13 for the 419's. Pretty much a bargain either way.

Are the HD 419 good? They are currently on sale at my Best Buy for $40. Should i Buy them?
