Cheap 3.5mm Cable?

Hey guys. I'm new to headphones, modding, etc. and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a 3.5 mm jack cable that's about 4-5 feet long for under $5, or if that's possible. I just need to replace my Sennheiser HD428 cable, since my cat liked them as much as me and decided to chew on it.

Thanks! :)

Cool, do you happen to know if retractable cables lower the quality of the sound or not?

Also, which ends should I get? I don't think I would need a male/male jack.

I don't think the 428 has a detachable cable, no? So I'd just get a male to male, and either clip one end off and solder into the cans(use a multimeter to keep track of the channels), or install a chassis mount 3.5mm jack in the phones.

I don't like the idea of retractible cables. I don't know that there would be any sound differences (doubt it) but certainly durability ones.

Nope, no detachable cable. I actually ended up just fixing it by cutting off the middle section that had bite marks, and then I reattached the wires and taped them together with electric tape. Worked like a charm. Saved a day or two of no music on my bus rides.

*thumbsup*

At some point you can upgrade that to solder and some adhesive heatshrink tube to make it more robust. :)

I agree! This temporary fix is a win in my book. :D
