Need help connecting E9 amp to my sound card via 3.5mm: Mono, or Stereo? Quick answer appreciated!

Received my E9 amp today, go to connect it to my sound card only to find the male to male 3.5mm cord is not included. Drive to radioshack, purchase 3.5mm (mono), drive home and connect it: Only plays audio through the left ear. 

 

Will exchanging the 3.5mm "mono" cord for a "stereo" solve this problem?

I was too impatient so I drove back to radio shack and exchanged for stereo- problem solved :)

 

Life is good again.
