Upgrading PC sound performance to Hi-Fi

Hello everybody. I wish to experience true Hi-Fi quality while listening vinyl rips (in FLAC format) via my PC, but can't decide what to buy: ASUS XONAR ESENCE ST or a amp/dac? My budget is not very impressive - 250$. :)

for that price, a xonar essence is prboably the best you can buy if you're going to be only using computer  as a source.

PC is not going to be my only source, I will probably exchange my PC to a Laptop, and xonar st would be useles, because its impossible to put it in laptop :D Perhaps I should get a DAC? I am planing to listen to music mostly with my heaphones ( Audio-Technika ath-a500). Could you recomend me with ASYNCHRONOUS USB ? :)

I'd upgrade your headphones before you get much of anything.

That would be the Ibasso D7-asynchronous usb in an affordable amp/dac.

by buying new ones

Also I'd suggest the o2 desktop amp/dac that's being released sometime soon.  It'll probably be pretty good for the money.
