good morning .

 

the end of the world for music is coming , and you have one option , to save one of these two albums .. just one ..

 

The dark side of the moon ( Pink Floyd )

Master Of Puppets ( Metallica )

 

which one will you choose to save or to take with you ..

 

just a game , but i like to know what's the public opinion on this ..

I'd save neither and keep "Since I Left You" by The Avalanches or "Dummy" by Portishead.

I enjoy both albums, but I picked Master of Puppets because it doesn't have Money on it. I hate that song, it disrupts DSoTM so much for me.

yay i second that ,  money is just more then a bit out of the chorus there , anyhow is also a piece of that masterful big nice piece of music that is the dark side ..

 

ps i voted for master of puppets!

If only one album is saved from musical civilisation, and it's one of those two, I'd save DSotM because, at its best, it's better, and because it's a historic album. If, on the other hand, other albums by these groups are being saved, then I don't care so much, because neither is the best album by its band. If, on the third hand, albums are being saved by other groups but this is the only opportunity to save a Pink Floyd or Metallica album, then I'd choose MoP, because if I'm looking to hear a Metallica album then it has to be Metallica, but if I want to hear a Pink Floyd album then an album by another group will probably do.

Between those 2 I'd save DSoTM without a doubt...Considering I'm not a Metallica fan (if it's not the black album it gets a meh from me).

 

For me...I'd save 'These Hopeful Machines' by BT. It's got something for everyone.

This reminds me of the old David Mahler threads... DSOTM used to be like M50's.  Seems most of the music forum guys left for Steve Hoffman and other similar forums.

It wouldn't be a hard decision at all. Master of Puppets is great, but it pales in comparison to DSOTM, which is a true musical masterpiece without equal among the past several decades of popular music.

i was figuring out something like  80-90% to 20-10% ( favouring pink floyd / pink floyd album , obviously )
