Wich DAC/amp is the best via optical of ihp-120? I want the best possible sound quality. No price limit.

how about get something like the fostex HP P1 or use a Cypher labs algo solo and then use that in conjunction with something like the Triad L3?

NuForce HDP. By my account it's well built and can handle a variety of sources quite well. Love the fact that it has USB, Digital and analog ins and a pre-amp out.

Unless it runs off batteries, I wouldn't define any amp/dac to be truly "portable".
