Im having a hard time choosing between the two. I like balanced frequency response with a nice low end, but not an overly bearing low end that drowns out the rest of the spectrum. I can get the SRH840's for $110 BNIB from an authorized Shure dealer. Im shure I could get the DJ's around the same price. Both sets will be primarily used with my HTC Incredible, iPod Touch, or my laptop with a Realtek HD Audio card.
