sadly this goes beyond your mind, everytime i get a new player, then theres a new one and then another one... same goes for headphones, controllers, tv and it cost me billions...

Addictive Because its nice to discover different sound signatures.

There are those that upgrade because they can (cost is not a consideration); there are those that upgrade for bragging rights; there are those that upgrade to satisfy a single purchase or buying binge; there are those that upgrade because they have been seduced by slick marketing or by subjective reviews; there are those that upgrade because they are bored; and there are those that upgrade for the sake of personal musical refinement and different tastes from any part of the audio component chain (analog/digital source, amp, dac, cables, tubes..etc).

 

I agree with a prior posting that it's nearly impossible to settle for anything less that is available at a mass consumer level once you've tasted the level of quality at various bench mark levels expressed here in this wallet devouring site.
