Hey guys, I just joined the forum today and I'm looking for some advice and help. (English is my third language so I might have some difficulties making myself clear, sorry for that)
I really don't know much about high-end audio equipment or anything but I'm looking to invest some money into it since I can afford it and I really enjoy listening to good quality music and I believe the price will be worth it in the long run.
I've been looking at the Sennheiser HD600/650 for some time now but I'm still not sure about which one to get. I currently have the Sennheiser HD408. They were very cheap but I needed to get new headphones since the Beats Studio I got from a friend broke. Only thing I enjoyed was the bass on those things, for everything else I thought they were pretty poor so I will never buy those.
I mostly listen to house, hip hop which has a lot of bass but I also really like female vocals.
1) Just based on that, would you recommend the 600 or 650?
Right now I don't have an amp or anything. From what I've read, my computers (Macbook Pro and Macbook Air) won't be enough to push these headphones to their full potential.
A friend of mine has an OBH11 with the OBH2 power supply for around 100$ that he is willing to sell.
2) Is that a good amp?
3) Would that + my computer be enough to get good sound from the HD600/650's or would it be a waste to buy such good headphones?
4) Do you maybe have any other recommendations for someone who doesn't know a thing about the equipment itself but recognizes good quality music?
What I want is to hear things I've never heard before. I want to rediscover all my music. I could spend 1000$ without really hurting my wallet but I'm forcing myself to stay around the 500$ price point.
