Headphone cord extension bad/good?

Thread Starter

I just bought a pair of Shure SE215 earphones and so far I love them. My only problem is that the headphone jack area is too big to fit with my iPhones case. Would using a small extension hurt the sound quality or should I guy out the plastic of the headphone jack or just not use the case. I would like to consider the cutting a last resort. Any suggestions?

You could use an extension cord, but you will get lots of static and may eventually look sound as it comes apart. A better option would be to re-solder a small jack, or easier/better would be getting an aftermarket cable with a smaller jack which may/at least it did for me make the sound better. As in more crisp, a little brighter, and less muddy.

An extension cord will not affect sound if it's of decent quality- check Monoprice.com
