Portable dac/amp with spdif input?

I could do with a battery or usb rechargeable dac/amp with a spdif input, to use with my laptop. Any suggestions, are there any?

I have tried a couple of usb dacs but I just couldn't get my laptop to work with them properly. The spdif works great though.

FiiO E17. it can use coaxil or optical SPDI/F along with USB or AUX in. It comes with the necessary adapters needed. it doesn't come with the coaxil or otpical cable of course

$150 and is a great sounding amp and DAC

it is soon to be released later this month to early february :)

Thanks, I'll check it out. Been out of the loop for a while!

Found the iBasso D12 does the job too.

if you have the money that is fantastic as well :) But for me. the E17 which also has the WM8740(this doesn't really mean too much) @$150 is more affordable and has great features :) i thought u wouldn't have $300 for this so i recommended the E17:)

I also can't and won't buy the D12 over the E17 due to the ammplifcation section which amplifies just a bit more over 100mW @ 32 Ohms as compared to 215mW @ 32 Ohms of the E17 which uses the amps (as quoted by ClieOS) in a Pre + - power amp setup with one amp in the E17 being used as a pre amp and then the second one for the main driving amp.

I'm not in a rush to make a purchase, so I'll hang on to see what the E17 is like, cheers.
