I just recently bought an M-Audio Fast Track Pro for recording music on my computer. Of course, it comes with a 1/4" headphone out for both monitoring the inputs and listening to the songs recorded. The Fast Track Pro can both record in and play back 24bit/96khz.
My question is, would a Fiio E9 or something similarly priced outperform a recording device like the Fast Track Pro? The Fast Track Pro sounds pretty good driving my Sennheiser HD518s! I'm just wondering if it's worth spending $100 for a Fiio E9...if it would really make my HD518s sound that much better.
