So I'm in the market for a new set of IEMs and I've been leaning towards the Triple.fi 10s. I saw them going new around $150 which is my price point but I wanted to know if anyone had a better suggestion at this point before I take the plunge. I'm selling off a NIB PC350 headset which is funding this purchase, so that will ultimately decide the purchase price but I'm willing to pitch in a little as needed.
I will primarily be using them as a backup when I'm at my PC and dont need a mic/don't feel like a full headset and while I'm finishing up school or on the road. I do have some lossless content but I will primarily be using them for tv/movies/games between classes and while travelling.
Here are my thoughts and concerns: they will be in my backpack, even with the case and everything I'm concerned about damaging them(not that I'm too rough). Also, while I have around $150 to spend, I don't feel like I have to spend it all to get a good product. I want something nice that I can use for the next few years until I become a successful millionaire. Lastly, I saw alienears offers a custom molded IEM for $160 it is single driver vs triple, but I've also heard that a proper fit/seal is the most important aspect of IEMs.
Lastly, I've been making my own custom cables for years now, I noticed that the TF10's have removable cords and that some people complain about the included cords breaking. Has anyone been able to secure a source for the connector? That may be a factor if I can make something cool and custom for myself.
Thanks for taking the time to read all this!
