Goldring NS-1000 headphones, need better phones for gaming

Hi I recently bought a Asus xonar DG sound card for the PC it has a built in headphone amp, so I thought I'd get better sound for games, and definatly, but now I think I need better sounding ones for in the home, I really would like a pair of AKG Q701's. Can anyone suggest anything between the ns-1000 and the Q701's for my next purchase?
