18 year old male. Transition from quiet to inaudible between 17.5 and 18 kHz using a sine wave generator.

I had really bad ears as a kid so I would be very curious to see what an audiologist would have to say about my hearing now given how dubious these tests are. I do my best to limit my playback volume but too often does the music beg to stretch its legs. L3000.gif

male - 18 - 20hz - 16000 hz on that youtube video, and not really sure about the mosquito ringtone. At 22khz I heard a buzzing sound right before the file ended, if that counts.

On another youtube video I heard up to and including 19khz.

While I'm at it: My cellphone charger makes this really high-pitched sound when I plug it in (which has prevented me from sleeping). My dad's GPS also makes a high-pitched sound whenever the voice is talking. Has anyone experienced any of this? Apparently I'm the only one in my house who can.

Most voltage converters / transformer adapters make a high-pitched sound, and they are irritating, I agree. Computers generate a fair amount of noise too, from the HDD's to other components. Quite some LCD monitors emit an irritating high tone, but luckily not all.
