I'm hoping someone with a bit more technical knowledge than I have can glance over my setup and tell me how I can improve the sound quality in my home.  Adding another piece of equipment or tweaking what I have.  Which of the ways listed that I stream my music would provide the best sound quality, if there is any difference at all?

I have an Onkyo 605 receiver and a PS3 connected to a pair of AV123 x-static speakers.  I have an Apple Airport Express connected to the Onkyo via a digital optical cable.

I tend to stream digital music (mostly v0 or higher ripped mp3s) from:

1. my desktop computer elsewhere in the house over the airport express

2. from my macbook connected to my desktop's itunes library using itunes sharing over the airport express

3. from my iphone over the airport express

4. stream from desktop via PS3 using upnp

5. I have a newer wireless router with a usb stick with mp3s on it but haven't used it much yet.

If upgrading the Onkyo to a newer version (comparable price point) with a newer feature would help, I'd be curious to know that too.

Also, once in a while I do listen to this setup using headphones plugged into the Onkyo. would this setup benefit from adding anything in that regard?

Thanks!
