Does anyone have any experience with the Astro A40 for music?

Was going to get the CAL! but i wanted a new gaming headset anyway so if this is any good i can just get the astros instead of both

Thanks

Honestly? No. The CAL would spank them a new one in every way other than lacking a mic. The Astro function as a mediocre to decent headset if anything. The old pads make them bass light and hollow sounding, the new pads make them bass bloated and lacking in detail.

For the price of the Astros, I'd get a CAL, an AD700 and a mic for both. That would have all your bases covered, for competitive gaming, immersive gaming, and when you need to chat.

edit: could've sworn I hit the edit button. My bad for double post.

Thanks for the quick reply :) i was only considering the Astro because it was fairly cheap on ebay but if its just mediocre i think ill go with the CAL! for now
