What is your HiFi desire?

So basically in here share your audiophile dreams, like your dream portable unit, your dream desktop set up, your dream product which you wish your favorite manufactory builds, basically things music related. 

 

So My audiophile dream is........

Here is mine: My audiophile dream is that Etymotic builds a 3 drive Balance armature IEM.

I don't know if I have a dream portable unit, but my dream desktop setup is basically a Stax SR-009 + KGSSHV, BHSE, or Liquid Lightning, maybe with a Smyth Realiser fed via X-Fi HomeTheater HD if it's really that good. If it's not...I don't even know where to begin on DACs, but they better have S/PDIF input.

 

If I can dream further, then I'd ask for a whole home theater room built for ideal acoustic properties, crammed with Quad, MartinLogan, or Acoustat ESLs on every channel, just to find out what loudspeakers can do.

 

And on a not-so-audiophile note, I want to build a DOS gaming box at some point stuffed to the brim with very specific sound cards-a Sound Blaster AWE32 with both the ASP/CSP (for QSound processing in at least one game) and a genuine Yamaha OPL3 FM synth, a Gravis Ultrasound PnP with that AMD InterWave chip and crammed with as much RAM as it can possibly hold, and a Roland CM-32L or LAPC-I LA synth, all with a mixer bringing them together as needed, to ensure that every game during the DOS era sounds as the developer intended on that machine. (To a lesser extent, I'd also build a Win98SE box with an Aureal Vortex2 card specifically to let A3D 2.0/3.0 games sound their best...yes, I'm that serious about gaming audio.)

All I want now are speakers. Probably Magnepan MMG, but I don't have the room for them now.

Speaking of Magnepan, I really want the Magnepan 20.7, hopefully my local dealer will have them soon so I can give them a listen!

for an audio stare the size of a warehouse that has every speaker ive ever wanted to hear so a i can demo them all and actually get a good idea about where they all sit in relation to each other.  rather than at present where each shop has 3 or 4 brands making it far harder to compare things.  oh and if no one near you stocks something (like XTZ have one retailer in the UK, thats it, one) then you never get to hear anything.  never mind makers that only sell direct so you can only demo by buying.
