Hello people, my name is Mirek I'm about average 17 year old British teenager with slight passion towards music. See I have the beautiful Philips SPA5300 2.1 speakers but I am a little bit concerned about them.
Using the video above I concluded that my speakers don't work bellow 40HZ, which to me seems pretty tragic... It is very noticeable during music (Dubstep mostly) where the bass is just missing, whereas when I listen to same track (even the exact same mp3 file) on my earphones (Sennheiser CX200 Street II) through my phone (HTC Desire) the song sounds completely different during to the bass actually being there!
My question is: Is this normal for this kind of speakers? I know they aren't the high-end kind but I got them as a gift from a certain person which kind of disables me from buying new ones, at least for the time being. And is there anything I can do to make them sound better, like tweaking the EQ, or changing my media player (Using WMP on Win7), maybe swapping my Soundcard? Atm I have the Creative Soundblaster 24bit but I am not sure if my onboard is better, I've got the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R.
Cheers :)
