Shure SE215 Recommendations for a Noob

Thread Starter

I'm thinking about getting the Shure SE215 tomorrow and I just want to know what I should do to make them the best they can be.

I have read about "burning-in", I think this means letting them play constantly for a certain amount of time?

If I need to burn them in what do I do? Volume setting? Amount of time?

My last question is do they need an amp? I have read a little about amps and I don't think from what I have read these need one but just wondering.

Thanks for any tips.

I just got my 215s this week.  I go back and forth on burn-in.  I did leave mine plugged in to a radio when at work and during the night.  Just played music through them.  I think they sound good out of the iPod.  I have used my Headroom Bithead with them.  Somewhat "fuller" sound.  I would say try them without an amp.  I find them very, comfortable and good sounding.
