portable amps are portable. of course we would only recommend u portable ones. and they greatly improve headphones that are recommended on this page.

Can you give me an example? I won't be going higher than 20 dollars. Maybe something like the fiio e5

Require necessarily an amp, no, they sound good with a computer, but they aren't very efficient headphone with just a 96dB. You can have much better with a good amp.

The E6 is good and should be bought as it has a few good upgrades.

i was in a hurry to type and finish but yeah. i only called the V6 as the last audiophile headphone they made. The XB1000's were their attempts at entering is what i meant. a good increase in quality but still a bit..meh

the CAL's are rebranded AHD 1001's they are ~$89 and should not require an amp. don't know too much about them.
