Vsonic GR06 Review - Page 10

 

I'm itching to get a new IEM and i've been looking at the GR06. People are saying the sound is "thicker". Especially the vocals are important to me. Is it "in your head" or does it have distance? How do these compare to the Pro Alpha's?

I don't mind loaning, especially in the UK....especially if something of interest can come the other way at some point

Sold already! I've decided they are the best back-ups I have so are keepers for sure.

Hay Tiger, good to see you back! If vocals are important you will love these...especially female. The mids are forward in the mix so vocals and guitars sound lush and full but the overall presentation is not in-your-head....so don't worry these are nothing like the XSR's we had. They compare favourably to the Pro-Alpha, bass is deeper but a little slower (but not sloppy, just nice and warm), mids as stated are their best feature, and the highs are really nice....great retrieval and I do not find them sibilant at all. The PA's sound more intimate in comparison...I still like how the PA's do guitars though....great bite. You trusted me with the PA's so I think you should trust me again . Or keep an eye out for a 2nd hand GR07 as I did, they really are different class but perhaps not worth 3 times a GR06.
We must be careful though or Meow will be on here telling us we work for Vsonic this time......

You say the bass is slow. That mean for high bpm tracks with lots of base they wont be that good?

It isn't slow just slower than the ProAlpha, which seemed pretty quick to me.

 

Haha, good to be back indeed, esp. when it's time to get another IEM! The GR06 sounds good and after the PA's and what we both thought of the XSR's, there's no reason not to trust you :)

Almost time to cash that Vsonic check lol. Only need to wait till frogbeats have it back in stock.

 

 

This is what I want to know too. And are they fast? How do they hold up when listening to rock songs, how well does the GR06 holds it composure during busy tracks?

in terms of sound and what people refer to as thick it is very very close to sony ex600 and panasonic hje900, although i actually prefer the sound to the hje and the build/style/fit to the sony.

 

fantastic phones and iv now ditched pfe/hje900/exb and triple.fi10 to use these.  (all will be in the for sale section soon), they are not better than any of the mentioned phones, rather they are different but are a combo when combined with a clip and digizoid zo that are exactly what i am looking for.

 

Just to not i have my jvc xx for crazy bass an  my customs for analytical.  these are now my sweet spot in the middle and punch up there with phones 3 times their price.

just to clarify i think you would be hard pressed to find better under £80-£100 and with these being £30 to me its a no brainer.

I cant find them anywhere in the UK apart from ebay for £40.

They got very good reviews so at that price its a good gamble! 

Im in the UK! How do you fancy trying out the crystals? I will be reviewing the GR06s if i can loan them but will not be ready for a couple of weeks as i am reviewing some TF10s that i have on loan. Sorry if you think i am being picky ahaha.

How secure are they in the ears without the guides vs with the guides?

Anyone who uses these when training that can comment?

 

I wouldn't use them while training. While the earguides keep the over the ear, the lack of a cable cinch can be a real pain.

CABLE CINCH DIY

 

small size cable tie.  attatch to desired size.  remove excess.  i can assure you this works just as well as any other tie i have had.

 

 

I use the guides for training in both triathlon and muay thai.   I would say they are more stable with them.  Very comfy phones for such a use with the right tips.
