IEMs for stage use! [Recommendation thread]

Hey audiophiles, I need a universal IEM for stage use. To make things simple, these are the criteria that I must absolutely satisfy:

Designed to be worn around the ear

Decent clarity

Above average isolation

Absolutely no microphonics

Can take abuse

Won't come out easily

Comfortable for long sessions

Long warranty period

Max budget $100 USD

I need to buy ten of these for each musician and for spares. So I'm working with a budget of $1000 USD for the purchasing of IEMs. The real problem is finding a universal that can fit well with everyone. I'm heavily considering the Shure SE-215 (clear version for less visibility). My problem is that I'm not worried about the tips, but the actual shell. Can the shell fit ears of all sizes, say from a kid with small ears to an adult with large ears.

I'd appreciate other suggestions. I was considering the Sony MDR-EX600, but it has mediocre isolation, fit issues, and is a bit over the budget.

I understand the Shure is "warm". Once bass, mids and highs are present with some clarity. It will be fine.

very difficult with that budget. Westone UM series should match your needs.

The Westone 1, UM1, Creative Aurvana 3, HSA Crystal, JVC FX300 and Shure SE215 are recommended.

You won't go wrong with the SE215. Shure has a reputation for great customer service. My only concern is your mention of younger talent - I would say you should have no fit issues with kids 10+.

Unrealistic at that budget.  UM2 all the way.

I wanted to recommend the Um2 too, loved it and very good for the money. But then again high end IEM expectation with such a small budget.

No spares, just one each and you could do um2

If he's asking for ten pairs, how is the SE215 unrealistic at $100/pr? Wouldn't the UM2 be far more unrealistic at $250+/pr? I think at his budget, dynamics will be able to take more abuse over dual-BA. Just my thoughts.

TBH I would find the combination of the memory wire and swivel connector of the shure annoying as hell for long periods.  Heard good things about the um series from westone as far as fit goes.  Don't worry about spares is my opinion, just buy from somewhere that has good warranty replacements (amazon, earphonesolutions.com etc etc)and do that route instead.  Actually westone comes with a 2 year warranty replacement as well.   Wonder if it might be worth the op emailing somewhere like earphonesolutions and seeing if a deal can be done for a bulk order?

Cheers.

Simply because a $100 IEM won't meet his criteria.  But you are right a $250 IEM won't meet his budget criteria either.  Silly me.  What was I thinking.
