I am flying to italy which is a 13 hour flight and i am looking foor some dope headphones. I have tried out only 2 pairs at bestbuy, the bose quitecomfort 15 and the beats studio. I LOOOVEE the bose ones because the noise cancellation is amazing but i wish it had better bass. I have the opposite feelings for the studio beats. They have amazing bass but the noise cancellation isnt as good. I love bass so as of now i am leaning towards the beats especially since i listen to a lot of dubstep but for the money i would rather buy a legit headset. One that has fantastic sound quality but im not paying for just the name

In all honesty and in all respect. Noise cancelling in most headphones suck....really bad. Bose is the only one who has really has it....somewhat....together but their price is crazy!  I would recommend either the Denon d2000 or the Ultrasone pro900s. Both of these sets have excellent isolation of outside noise and leakage. They also have great bass.

Back to noise cancellation, even with Bose, who have the "best"--and that is relative-- noise cancellation, noise cancellation distorts the audio that the headphones put out. That's one of the reasons the bass on the Bose probably wasn't the best.

In reality, with Bose, you get a nice pair of expensive earmuffs that produce somewhat good audio.

I hope this helps.

A decent pair of in-ears will give better isolation than any AFC circuit.  I'm not sure which would be best suited to your genres, though.  Maybe the Sennheiser IE6?  They can usually be found for $100 something and have some bass emphasis.

-Edit-

or perhaps one of the cheaper iterations of Monster's Turbines?

For dubstep (and the other listed genres) and for a nice price and isolation I recommend audio-technica ath m50s, these are over ears, if you want in ears for even better isolation but a little drop in sound quality, I recommend the Klipsch s4.

M50=100$

S4=63$

Both have really nice and tight bass, the s4 bass is a little punchier but it is less all around balanced.

The m50s have a little less isolation, but the soundstage is nice and you can hear each little individual instrument really nice and crisp.

Vocals in the m50s and acoustic guitars sound amazing, bass and drums in the s4s sound really nice and hit hard but clean.

Hope I could help

Both of these can be acquired for less than $350. You might just have to wait for them to come in stock at that price.

You can also call J&R and ask for their best price on the D2000s.  Most people have been getting them for between $200 and $250 lately.  That said, from what I've heard, they have some of the worst isolation of any closed headphone.

Honestly, if you prioritize noise cancellation, IEMs are going to be your best bet.  Maybe the Monster Turbines?  I don't know much about IEMs though.

I have a nice pair of sennheisers that are like $80 but i want some over the ear headphones. I love the in ear headphones but they just arent as comfortable as over the hear ones

Hell, go for the Beats - lotsa BASS but NO music to speak of, just loud, muddled, deep, throbbing, overwhelming bass - forget about SQ and the rest of the audio spectrum - but lots of bass.
