if your talking about me?
Yes that would be me making the review of the IE8' :P

I also amped them with the Fiio e5, and that didn't help anyway lol

And ah I see, cleaver about the wire on the headband - never thought of that, although that would make it unstable surely?

very sexy headphones - which ones are these?

D5 or 7k's?

And you see the headband is being put under strain from the single metal branch - I found mine has a dent in the headband after a while...

Those are denon 5000s. I also modded them into open back cans. They sound way better than stock. The denon 5000s naturally have less mid bass and more sub bass than both the denon 2000 and 7000. So I found myself getting irritated on songs with a lot of bass. Vibrating my head lol. After doing this mod the bass is super tight with lots of punch and still has lots of quantity but well controlled. I can focus on the bass lines now and how deep it actually goes instead of getting annoyed. The treble is very airy now (reminds me of the EX1000 but better in all respects). The mid range is not recessed on the D5000 as it is on the 2000 and 7000s. The mid range has also opened up noticeably with this mod and so has the sound stage. Sound stage is huge now! A result of this mod is that these cans are very unforgiving on poor quality tracks or poorly mastered tracks. You give it a piece of **** and you'll get a shattered turd in return. It rips into the recordings and presents them to you clearly. My solution for the hanger creating a crease on the headband is by using the denon 5000s cable to take the pressure off of the headband. So I wrap my cable neatly up in a circular motion and then put the cables on the hanger then I put the denons themselves onto the cable which is supported by the hanger.

I couldn't tell that from the picture to be honest!

Although all that process is a little annoying with the long ass wire isn't it? lol

Not really lol just hold the base of the connector in our hand and start extending the cable around your elbow and back to our hand and you'll have wrapped it up neatly in no time.

The thing I would need, as seen from the above picture, would be a big foam padding to not damage the headphones, ie. yenny's ones

Bowei's one looks the best, although didn't like the colour, as it wouldn't suit anything on my desk (lol)

That said I still haven't found a banana stand in shops - and would probably have to buy it online.

Looks like, unless I find something by luck today (I went to literally every store I could think of yesterday), I'll settle for the ebay ones, question will be will they hold, or will they be good, or are they too expensive for what they offer.

I would love to even buy a DIY one from one of you guys, but I fear that you guys are in the US - shipping etc won't make it worth while methinks

They also sell the one's i have in wood colored for $2 USD more :)
