Need help For Desktop Amp to work with soundcard!!!!!!

Hi, I am looking for a desktop amp to work with my soundcard. I want to use my sound card with the amp. So what kind of connection do i need in order to make that work? I have a sound blaster X-fi titanium soundcard with 5.1 inputs and optical in/out. I do have a 200 budget for the amp, would the Fiio E9 work with my soundcard?

If your soundcard has analog output for the front channels, yes. Just plug in the correct cables; I can't tell what the soundcard has from your description (since some use 3.5mm stereo, others have network-type sockets with pigtails terminated into female RCA plugs at the other end) ; but the E9 I think has a 3.5mm input.

If you use the E9 with the E7/E17 docked into it, you ill use USB and will completely bypass the soundcard.

Depending on what headphones you use.

Might be easier/cheaper just to upgrade to the Creative Titanium HD.

My sound card has a 3.5mm jack which is for the front left/right speakers. So would i hook a 3.5mm jack with 2 rca 3.5mm jacks on the other end? So i would plug the rca intputs into the amp and use the single 3.5mm jack to plug into my sound card. Then plug my 3.5mm jack headphones into the amp. Would this be how it would work?   http://www.amazon.com/RiteAV-3-5mm-Stereo-Male-Cable/dp/B000V0G2C4/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1326537621&sr=1-6
