I was wondering if i hook this up to my computer will it bypass my soundcard? I have a x-fi titanium sound card i use for gaming and music. If it does are their any desktop amps that go through the soundcard? Would this amp be good for Sennheisers HD 558 or would  the fiio E9 be just fine?

That dac only takes digital input (pretty sure only through USB, too), so it won't be using your soundcard. It could be used on a computer with no sound card at all -- that's the idea of a DAC.

If you want to use your soundcard, then you need to get a device that is strictly an amplifier -- that has analog inputs, and hook it to the line out of your soundcard.
