Hifiman EF-2A just received.... and the right ear doesn't work :(

Hello there, 

 

I just received my Hifiman EF-2A, i plugged it with my Macbook pro, and unfortunately i can't hear anything with the right earphone :'( I tried 2 pairs with and without the amp, and it appears to come from the amp... Damn it.. You guy ever had the same problem with it ? Can it be fixed without returning to Hifiman ? I'd like to avoid a return from France that would be expensive :(

Have you tried switching the tubes around? ie. swap left tube with right tube. This will give you indication if it is a bad tube. If it turns out to be a bad tube, you can get a set of 6ak5, 5654, EF95 replacements for fairly inexpensive.

I tried but no result, 5 minutes later, i turn on the amp, 1 minute later I hear a BOOM, one of the Blue/Black cylinder almost exploded... I returned the amp for a refund as i think this is unacceptable....

 

I don't know now if i should go for a little dot MK III or IV... or any other 200-300 tube amp... for use with headphones like hifiman HE 400 or Audeze LCD2..
