Cool. All in all, ultimately recommend building at least a decent 5.1-channel home theatre surround system for use as PC speakers. Just Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1, along with Dolby Pro-Logic and Pro-Logic II's all a guy really needs for the most part. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD 7.1 are optional.

Yeah I'd probably like to upgrade to 5.1 in time, but right now all I can afford/really need is 2.0.

Also do check out any used PSB.  PSB makes great entry level offerings.  I've a pair of these myself and they're quite fantastic and sensitive, so easy to drive.

I think going passive+amp for 100-150 is a bit unrealistic of an upgrade to the logitech you already have, but it can be done, even if you have to stretch the budget a tiny, tiny bit.

 

Mostly you'll have to scour the used market and/or go active.

Okay, so I briefly considered the BX5as but ultimately settled on my original Sony SS-B3000s + amp.

 

Hopefully I made the right decision. I was getting exhausted with reading reviews and looking up information.
