Amateur set-up needs needs advice!

Hello Everyone!

Recently I've purchased a pair of Denon AH-D2000 headphones along with an Audinst HUD-MX1 for a complete PC audio set-up. The headphones are incredible and I'm really happy with them.

However, I'm not noticing any of the 'boomy' bass anyone else on the forums has mentioned. I can pretty much turn the dial 3/4 of the way on the DAC/AMP before I reach my limit. I'm not entirely sure if this is a problem with my set-up, or if the DAC may be malfunctioning. This is how I listen to my music (Any suggestions to better that would be appreciated!):

Foobar2000, FLAC (Around 800-1100kbps) > Audinst HUD-MX1 > Denon AH-D2000

Thanks as always! :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm using WASAPI!

I dont have experience with the Amp/Dac you have, but..have you tried plugging your headphones to another source? the D2000's are not hard to drive.

Its weird that you find the D2000's lacking on bass.

I don't have another source to test them with other than an iPhone.

Man...

No one has a HUD-MX1 and some D2000s they can test this out with?

You wouldn't happen to be the guy that is selling the Audinst on Ebay would you? I noticed he was from Long Island as well.
