Looking for in-ear headphone for running, sleeping and dubstep

Thread Starter

Hi All,

I recently hastily ordered some Phonak Audéo pfe 012, but my ears are unique big and stick out, so the tips were too small for it to fit in my ears. They work OK with much longer tips, but aren't comfortable while sleeping and generally don't fit as they're meant to.

Since receiving them, I discovered and looked through the massive multi-IEM review thread, but can't quite settle on a model.

I would like some inexpensive (~100) in-ears, which I would use while falling asleep, and while running. I generally listen to dubstep.

Suggestions very appreciated!

For $10 the low-profile Philips SHE3580 could be a great candidate for banging around and sleeping on, and their extended bass could be good for dubstep--impressions in this thread:

Then too, you might want to check out other tips for your Phonak.  Comply makes some large size foam tips that might fit.

Shure SE215.

Great with dubstep, good fit (I wear them under my motorcycle helmet because they don't stick out), decent noise isolation.  Right at your price point $99, i found mine for $79 on sale.

I suggest the JVC Air Cushion($16) . It is extemely comfortable.

I have the 66's (i.e. the older version of the air cushions) and they are very comfortable.

However, they for sleeping I've found they don't sit right in the ear and 'pull out' too easily :)

Just my $0.02
