Differences between Grado SR325is and SR325i?

Are there any huge differences? I'm kinda thinking of getting the goldies because IMO they look a lot better than the silvers. A few people have told me they're pretty much the same but just want to make sure.

I am guessing they are identical save the color.  Go for the color you want as the drivers and the ear cups are the same.

There are those who believe that the SR325is is somehow less bright. I only heard the SR325i once for a brief audition at a meet, and it did seem brighter to me, although any number of factors could have contributed to that impression.

The 325is is also newer, so should be fresher in condition generally. Oh and thicker cable.

I found the newer 325is to have a tamer high end and a smoother character. The gold model had always been a bit shrill for me.

^ There you go. If you want some more views though, you can post in the threads dedicated to the 325, so you'll get the biggest fans of the model to weigh in.

Great alias, and welcome to Head-Fi!

These are not silver anymore but they used to be 325is.

I'm pretty much decided on the Sennheiser HD 650 but am seriously considering picking up the 325is in the meantime, I hear they make a pretty good combo anyways and it will probably be nice to have as I wait for the HD 650 to drop in price on Amazon.
