I need advice on Fiio Headphone Amp for Senn HD 598's

Hey guys,

So I recently purchased a pair of Senn 598's which sound great. I have them plugged into my 240 watt stereo:



Now, my question is, I was looking into the FiiO headphones amps, and was hoping to find one that I could use with my ipod as well. But since I already have a stereo system, is the headphone amp necessary? I like that the FiiO E7 is portable, but should I be holding out for the E17 that comes out soon? If I do buy a Fiio amp, which type of ipod wire would I need with it? Keep in mind I wouldn't be using the amp for any desktop purposes, just pure vinyl/ipod listening.

For ipod, I just plug it into my stereo through the aux, so I still get a better sound as oppose to plugging directly into my ipod and the headphones.

Any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys

Tag.  Same headphones, same question.  Looking at an E7 or E7/E9 but am open to other suggestions.

 

Also, FiiO amps don't add any background hiss right?  I have had some source components that did that in the past, so I assume it's possible (but unlikely, given how much Head-fi seems to talk about the FiiO stuff).

Thanks for the heads up on the proper wire for the ipod.

 

I hear great things about the E11, though it doesn't have an OLED screen.

Am I better off using an E11 for my turntable as well, or would it still sound better through my stereo
