Oh and we are off to Iceworks.

This time we are going to squeeze into the Dowse Bar which is downstairs. We aren't going to have that many people coming and besides Jeff, qusp and I, we don't need that much space for stuff. The massive room upstairs has been given a new facelift and looks like a great place to have a cocktail party... and the price has changed to reflect that. I believe parking is included in the quote.

Looks good gents!

Just the motivation I need to get out and start working on my DAC/headphone amp this weekend and finalise an enclosure design for it.

Since all I have are portable amps, if I brought everything, it will be less than 10kg.

It's good to see you guys are still coming (minus Grev who has a cool job).

There will be a LCD-2 for sure. There were 4 at the last one.

I'll bring-
ß22
GS-1
Lite DAC 83
Lite CD1
Metrum Octave
640C v2
HD800+650+600
W3000ANV
DT880
AD2000
AD900
HF-2
MS Pros

and that will be it. It weighs... I have no idea how much it weights. The Chinese stuff weighs the most.

I don't think I'll have enough cash to buy my end stage amp in time for the meet frown.gif Money went into fixing other things around the house. How lame.

My Paradox is still on order and maybe I'll have it by the time November rolls over.

Gonna hijack this thread for the access to QLD head-fiers.

The left driver of my FA-011 has stopped working with only a little bit of use. I'm wondering if anyone has the skills and materials to have a dig about for a possible fix.

On the main FA-011 thread a Melbourne Head-fier said "You can dismantle the side that isn't working and resolder it. It could also be a defect connection for the left side signal in your 3.5mm jack."

I really have next to no expertise with this stuff so any help would be appreciated.

An RMA path involves sending these back to Russia to a distributor with a poor track record for returns/replacements. That'll set me back $40-$80, a gamble which I've decided to avoid.

So, for those that like to fix things and have a bit of time you're welcome to my headphones :)

no worries, though i'm not sure what you are offering? are you offering me your damaged headphones free? haha I dont normally do service fixes, too much of a pita shipping things around for the money involved and i've turned many people down, so i'd rather be consistent. but I can always use another pair of headphones, maybe if I can fix them no worries I could send you one of my cables in return? dunno i'm unclear as to what your offer is, if they are fixable without driver replacement, I can fix them, of that I have no doubt.

otherwise perhaps we can work something out, if you can send to me and pick them up? dunno.
