Hifiman re-262 vs Etymotic Research HF5

Hello!

I've had my re-zero's for over a year now, i use'em on the go with my iphone. Recently i've adopted a big scary monster who bit my re-zero's cable, damaging it. Unfortunately the re-zero's are dead.

Upon looking new models, i came across the 262, and the HF5 from the big multi-iem review thread.

Although i'd prefer the 262, specially because from what i've read the HF5 lacks a bit of bass that might put me down, however,  i'm afraid it's impedance is too high for it to be driven by the iphone, hence the HF5.

262:

Frequency response: 20 - 22Khz
Weight: 0.6 Oz
Sensitivity: 95 db
Impedance: 150 ohm
Warranty: 1 year replacement

HF5:

requency Response
20 Hz - 15 kHz

Accuracy Score
85%

Transducers
balanced armature

Noise Isolation
35-42 dB

Impedance (@1 kHz)
16 Ohms

Sensitivity (@1 kHz) SPL at 0.1V
105 dB

Maximum Output (SPL)
120 dB

Cable
4 ft with 3.5 mm plug

User Replaceable ACCU•Filters™

Warranty
2 years

Oh, i'm not pretending to know anything about sound, so if i'm saying nonsense let me know.

so in your opinion, is the 262's impedance too high for the iphone to handle?

I personally think the re 262 requires an amp. An iphone alone does not give it enough power.
